Women's Cross Country - Wed, Oct. 10, 2012
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Bianca Kubicki of Madonna (Mich.) has been named the NAIA National Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the national office announced Wednesday. Kubicki was selected based on her performance from Oct. 1 - 7 and was chosen out of a pool of conference/independent runner of the week selections.
Kubicki, a native of Canton, Mich., finished with Madonna's fastest 5K time in history on Oct. 5 at the Michigan Intercollegiate Championships in Grand Rapids, Mich. The sophomore bettered the previous program record by 17 seconds with an 18:06 en route to a 13th place finish out of 211 runners from all levels of collegiate athletics. She also broke her personal record by 31 seconds.
