GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (9/13/12) - Players from Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) members Cornerstone, Davenport, Indiana Tech, and Northwestern Ohio, will join host Aquinas for the Fall ITA/NAIA Midwest Regionals Sept. 13-15. More than 150 competitors from area schools, including WHAC members  will play two rounds of singles play followed by two rounds of doubles play at Orchard Hills (men) and Gainey (Women).

This marks the ninth year for the Midwest Championships. Men's and women's singles and doubles champions will advance to the USTA/ITA National Small College Championships held in Mobile, Ala. October 14-17. The USTA/ITA National Small College Championships is the only national championship event for singles and doubles at the NAIA level since the NAIA National Championship is a team event.

The ITA is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, NAIA, and Junior/Community College. The association is comprised of nearly 1,700 coaches representing 1,200 institutions across the country. 

Hosts for other regionals include: Georgetown (Ky.), Brenau (Ga.), Bethel (Kan.), Olivet Nazarene (Ill.), Embry-Riddle (Fla.), Oklahoma Baptist, and Hope International (Fla.)
