Davenport head volleyball coach Megan Lenhart recorded her second victory of the 2012 season to claim the top spot on the Panther's record board. She amassed a 45-31 record in just her third season, passing Rick Rykse's 44-win record.
The Panthers defeated the Illinois Tech, 25-20, 25-22, 25-16, on the road thanks to Hannah Stone's nine kills and four blocks. Kelse Moon recorded 15 digs and Amber Getty had 19 assists in the sweep. The Panthers received votes in the latest NAIA poll and play in the Early Bird Invitational hosted by St. Ambrose (Iowa) this weekend.
"I was very proud of how we fought in the third set tonight to finish the match in three," said Lenhart.
Lenhart played four years at fellow WHAC member Cornerstone and earned a Secondary Education degree in 2004. She earned defensive MVP honors twice duirng her playing career. She was an assistant coach at Taylor (Ind.) before taking the role as club director at FaR Out Volleyball Club in Michigan. The club captured the state's first AAU Volleyball National Championship.
