Kourtney Volkmer has been tabbed to lead the Indiana Tech volleyball program, Director of Athletics Martin Neuhoff announced Wednesday, June 6.

"We are very excited to have Kourtney join the Indiana Tech family," said Neuhoff. "She will be taking over a very solid program and we believe she can take it to the next level."

Volkmer becomes the third head coach since the Warrior volleyball program was reinstated in 2005 and will look to make her mark as a first-year head coach after playing for the Cleveland State University Vikings for the last four years.

While in college, Volkmer served as the assistant coach with the 18 National Maverick Volleyball Club where she helped guide the team to a spot at the USA Junior Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia in 2011. In addition to her time as an assistant, she also served as the head coach of the 16 National Maverick Volleyball Club team in 2012.

In May 2012 Volkmer graduated Summa Cum Laude from Cleveland State University, earning a degree in Early Childhood Education.

At Colonel Crawford High School, Volkmer was a standout student-athlete earning 16 letters, four in volleyball, four in basketball, four in softball, and four academic letters. She was also the 9^th girl in the state of Ohio to record 1,000 kills in volleyball and 1,000 points in basketball.

Volkmer, originally from Galion, Ohio, resides in Fort Wayne with her fiancé, Darrin Wilson, and dog, Ellie.
