CLEVELAND - Five Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) members finished the spring sports season ranked in the top 50 of the 2011-12 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings.
Indiana Tech sits as the highest-ranked conference member with 144 points in the spring and 390 overall. The Warriors scored in Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field. Aquinas is No. 33 after scoring 139.50 points in the spring in Men's Tennis and both Outdoor Track & Fields for a grand total of 324. Siena Heights, landed at No. 37, Cornerstone at No. 41, and Davenport at No. 48.
The final NAIA Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings will be officially released Wednesday, June 13.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 12 sports - six women's and six men's.
