GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - The Madonna women's golf team finished up the 2011-12 season as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) representative at the NAIA National Championships, but not before one golfer had an experience of a lifetime.

In just their second national championship appearance, the Crusaders missed the cut after the third day of play. MU shot a team total of 1035 for 159-over-par. Junior Michelle Hall led MU with a three-day total of 244 after individual rounds of 85, 80, and 79.

Kaitlyn Brasher made history with the program's first-ever hole-in-one when she hit a seven-wood off the tee on the sixth hole. The sophomore's par-3, 176-yard hole ace was the first in her career as well.

"I was kind of in shock when it went in," said Brasher after the round. "It was pretty exciting. I would not want to have (a hole-in-one) in any other tournament than at a National Championship."

British Columbia leads the field heading into the final round with a 908 team total. University of Victoria's Megan Woodland has a one-shot lead in the individual race with a 219. The event concludes on May 18.
