BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Davenport and Madonna tied for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) regular season softball title with 11-3 league records and also split the top two player honors.

Sam Cole finished with a 20-9 record, a save, and a 1.94 ERA for Davenport to snag Pitcher of the Year honors. The junior struck out 141 batters in 194.2 innings of work to earn her third appearance on the list. Jackie Barley of Madonna grabbed Player of the Year honors after hitting .415 (56-for-135) with a .637 slugging percentage (86 total bases in 135 at-bats) and 37 RBIs.

DU head coach Ronda Varnsdeel and Concordia head coach Greg Brierley shared the league's Coach of the Year accolade. Varnsdeel led Davenport to its second consecutive league crown while Brierly led Concordia to the most wins in a season (22) since 2002. Michigan-Dearborn head coach Sarah Rotta was this year's Coach of Character for displaying sportsmanship and character throughout the year.

In addition to All-Conference honors, the WHAC released All-Academic and Champions of Character teams. The WHAC Softball Tournament is scheduled for May 3-4 at Bailey Park. Davenport sits as the top seed in the eight-team double-elimination tournament thanks to a tiebreaker procedure. Opening games begin at 3 p.m.
