The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced its final Outdoor Track & Field weekly awards for the 2012 seasons.
Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Chadd Keller,
Indiana Tech - The junior from Decatur, Ind. had a season-best mark in the discus (154-11) to place third at the
Bellarmine Classic on April 28. He also took second in the shot put with a distance of 48-10.25.
Men's Track Athlete of the Week
Ryan Versen,
Cornerstone - The sophomore from Grand Rapids, Mich. won two events and placed third in another at the
Hillsdale Gina Relays April 28. He won the 400-meter hurdles in 53.05 for the fifth-fastest time in the NAIA and matched his provisional time in the 400-meter dash (48.1). His split in the 4 x 400 relay helped the Golden Eagles to a season-best time of 3:18.65 and third place.
Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Emaryne Watt,
Indiana Tech - The junior from Indianapolis, Ind. broke the school record in the long jump with a 19-0.75 mark at the Bellarmine Classic for second place. She also finished third in the 100 meters (12.07) and fourth in the 200 meters (25.01) - both season-best times.
Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Jamela Kimbrough,
Indiana Tech - The sophomore from Columbia, Mo. picked up a pair of second-place finishes with career times at the Bellarmine Classic. She ran 12.01 in the 100 meters and 24.46 in the 200 meters while running a leg in the winning 4 x 100 relay team.
