Jotham Woo had a monster week at the plate for Davenport to earn Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Baseball Player of the Week while Eric Zagone of Indiana Tech earned his first Pitcher of the Week honor.
Woo hit a home run in each of the Panthers games as Davenport went 2-1 on the week. The junior from Grand Rapids, Mich. hit .818 from the plate (9-for-11) and had a slugging average of 1.909 with three doubles in addition to his homers. He hit his first career grand slam in a 9-4 win against Concordia and now leads the team in batting average, runs, doubles, and on-base percentage.
Zagone, a senior from Roswell, N.M., threw his second compete game shutout of the season in Tech's 2-0 win against Lourdes. He scattered seven hits while striking out eight batters as Tech took the regular-season conference title by three games.
