The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) announced Aaron Hendrick of Aquinas as the Men's Player of the Week and Denisse Favela of Davenport as the Women's Player of the Week in tennis.
Hendrick led the Saints to a 7-2 victory against Grand Valley State (Mich.) with a win at the #1 singles position (6-1, 6-3) and a second win in the top doubles spot. The sophomore from Grand Rapids, Mich. holds a 10-2 singles record and a 12-2 doubles record this season. The win is the 11th consecutive victory for the Saints (13-1).
Favela, a senior from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, posted a 6-1, 6-2 win at the #2 singles spot in a match with Aquinas. She teamed with her twin sister Diana to capture the top doubles match and help the Panthers to a 7-2 victory. Favela is now 17-5 in singles play and 21-2 in doubles as #25-ranked Davenport improved to 14-5.
