KANSAS CITY - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) saw three women basketball stars earn National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American Honors while three others received Honorable Mention.
Conference Player of the Year Kortni Elsworth (Concordia) and Cornerstone's Melissa Veltkamp were honored as first team All-Americans. Elsworth averaged 11.54 points and a conference-best 5.63 assists per game while provided the leadership needed to advance to the second round of the NAIA tournament. She ranked second in the nation in total assist with 197 and was second in assists per game. Elsworth was a third-team selection in 2011. Veltkamp laid the foundation for the Golden Eagles, averaging 17.39 points, 7.06 rebounds, 3.16 assists, and 2.13 steals per game.
Davenport senior Karlee Despres earned second-team honors for her 14.26 points and 5.91 rebounds average as the Panthers made it to the second round of the NAIA national tournament.
Honorable Mention: Hannah Sabol, Concordia; Karli Harris, Davenport; Amanda Francis, Northwestern Ohio.
