Top-seed Cornerstone University will host No. 3 Aquinas College in the championship game of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) for the right to advance to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball Nationals.

Cornerstone 111, Siena Heights 77
The top-seeded Golden Eagles shot a blistering .576 in the first half, including a 12-1 and 13-0 run to take a commanding 51-31 halftime lead over #4 Siena Heights.

Siena Heights battled to within 19 in the second half but could not cool the hot hands of the Golden Eagles. Although the Saints scored 46 points in the second half, CU shot 56% for the game, making half of its three-point shots.

Kelvin DeVries had a career high 32 points, sinking 11-of-16 shots (8-for-12 treys).  Justin Yoder and Dominic Allen scored 12 and 11 points respectively for Cornerstone (26-6). CU's bench added 49 points.

SHU, led by Brent Reynolds 22 points, ends its season at 21-11. The only other Saint in double figures was Logan Matthews with 12.

Aquinas 55, Davenport 53
The battle for the final slot in the championship game boiled down to less than three minutes. The game was virtually equal - from field goal percentage to free throw percentage to bench scoring to runs. Second-seeded Davenport jumped to 12-7 lead before #3 Aquinas countered with a 12-5 run. The teams battled to a 29-25 score at half with DU in the lead.

Davenport led most of the second half, but not by more than four points. Aquinas tied the score with 4:05 remaining. Davenport went back on top 50-47 on a three-pointer by James Nelson,  but it would be the Panthers' last lead of the game. Aquinas scored eight straight points for a 55-50 lead. A three-pointer at the buzzer by Davenport's Mario Scott pulled the score to 55-53.

WHAC Player of the Year John Lierman was held to just seven points for Aquinas, but Matt Weiss and Ty Motley stepped up and scored 15 and 10 respectively.

Scott was the only Panther in double figures with 15 points. No 19 Davenport, 23-9, will await an at-large bid to the NAIA Division II Men's Basketball National Championship in Point Lookout, Mo. The 32-team field is completed with at-large selections based on the final national rating after automatic conference qualifiers.

Aquinas improves to 21-11 and will travel to face Cornerstone for the tournament championship on March 1.
