Both the men's and the women's Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) tournaments are set. Cornerstone University locked up the #1 seed on the men's side while Davenport University is the top seed on the women's side.
Cornerstone used a 77-70 victory over Davenport on Saturday, Feb. 20 to secure the top spot for the men's tournament and ensure home-court advantage. Davenport sits as the second seed while Aquinas College is third and Siena Heights University grabbed the fourth seed. The top four seeds host opening round games. The men open play on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
For the women, second-ranked Davenport maintained the top spot in the conference the entire season. With the final win of the regular season, Aquinas secured the second seed. Madonna University and Concordia University finish out the top four respectively after tie breaker procedures with Cornerstone University. All three were tied for the third seed with an 8-6 conference record. Madonna came out as the third seed after comparing head-to-head competition among the three teams. The women take the court on Thursday, Feb. 25.
The winners of each of the tournaments receive an automatic bid to the NAIA Division II National Championships. The men's championship is in Point Lookout, Mo. while the women's is played in Sioux City, Iowa.
