Aquinas College senior John Lierman averaged 23.5 points, 7 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3 steals during the week to be named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
The 6-4 guard from Holt, Mich. scored 26 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 66-55 win against Indiana Institute of Technology. in a 63-80 road loss to then-ranked #12 Cornerstone University, he scored 21 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had two assists, blocked one shot and stole three balls.
Aquinas improved to an even 4-4 in conference play and 14-10 overall. Next up is a road game at Madonna University on Feb. 3.
Prior to this week, Lierman was averaging 18.3 points and 5.4 rebounds. He currently ranks in the top 50 of NAIA Division II in seven statistical categories.
