Madonna University junior Tabatha Wydryck recorded her first career triple-double in helping the Crusaders post two victories for the week. The 6-1 guard averaged 17.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, five assists and two steals in the two victories while shooting 64.7% from the field. For her efforts, she was named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Wydryck's first game of the week saw her score 16 points, grab six rebounds and two steals as Madonna defeated Cornerstone University 76-63. The Wyandotte, Mich. native followed that performance with a triple-double performance, scoring 19 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and handing out 10 assists. She also had four steals in the thrilling 75-74 win at University of Michigan-Dearborn.
It's just the third triple-double in NAIA Division II this season and the first at Madonna in the last five years. On the year, Wydryck is averaging 12.39 points on 39.2% shooting, 7.7 rebounds, four assists and 3.11 steals.
The Crusaders (7-11/3-3) face Concordia University on Wednesday, Jan. 27 for a chance to pull above .500 in conference games.
