Davenport University was voted as the top team in NAIA Division II Women's Basketball for the third consecutive week while Aquinas College moved up one spot in the latest national rating.
On a 19-game winning streak, DU (19-1/5-0) received 13 of the 15 possible first-place votes for a total of 404 points. The Lady Panthers rank in the top 25 of Division II in 21 team statistical categories, including first in total assists (425), assists per game (21.25), total steals (373), steals per game (18.65) and total offensive rebounds (962). DU sits as second in five other categories.
Aquinas (14-5/4-0) inched up to No. 16. The Saints are hot from the three-point line, shooting 38.1% (5th in the country). Aquinas has won five straight and will face Davenport on Jan. 20.
Hastings College (Neb.) sits at second while Northwestern College (Iowa) is in the third slot.
