FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Indiana Institute of Technology Men's Soccer team won the 2009 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Men's Soccer Tournament Championship Game with a thrilling 2-0 victory over the visiting Panthers of Davenport University.

Both teams spent the early portion of the game trying to find their rhythm before senior Joel Putek found the back of the net off a Tom Pickersgill corner kick at the 27^th minute. As the game continued, each side looked to gain advantage in the remainder of the match before junior Benny Saydee, in the final minutes, pounced on a loose ball and flicked it past the keeper for the final result. The Warriors will advance to the NAIA National Tournament; playing the Opening Round next Saturday, November 21^st at a site and opponent to be determined.
