Gerard John-Williams of Davenport University and Josh Verhulst of Indiana Institute of Technology took home Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, for the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).
A sophomore midfielder, John-Williams scored a goal in each of Davenport's victories this week to claim the Offensive Player of the Week award. He nettted one in a 3-0 win against Madonna University and notched another in a 2-0 win against Siena Heights University. The Panthers improved to 7-9-0 overall (5-6-0 in WHAC).
Verhulst had four saves in goal for Tech as he held first-place Aquinas College scoreless in 110 minutes of play for a 0-0 tie. It was the fourth shutout of the season for the senior from Wyoming Park, Mich. and his second WHAC Defensive Player of the Week nod. Tech improved to 9-6-2 overall and 6-3-2 in conference play.
