The top three teams in the NAIA for men's cross country changed this week and now includes a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference team.
For weeks, Aquinas College sat as the No. 2 team in the country. The jump follows a first-place finish out of 21 teams at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge Cross Country Invitational on Oct. 24. The Saints were previously ranked as high as No. 2 in the first four polls of the 2009 season.
Aquinas fell to #7 on Oct. 2 and remained in that spot until Wednesday's rating. Southern Oregon University took over as the #1 team in the country, snapping Malone University's (Ohio) 29-week streak as the top team. Malone slipped to second in the rating.
Cornerstone University (Mich.) fell out of the Top 25 to Others Receiving Votes just behind fellow WHAC member Siena Heights University. SHU just missed the rating with 93 total points for the 26th spot.
