Aquinas College and Cornerstone University continued to garner national attention as both squads were featured in the latest edition of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Men's Cross Country rating.
Aquinas held steady at the No. 2 spot while receiving one first-place vote. The Saints placed fourth behind three NCAA schools at the Calvin College (Mich.) Invitational. Senior Robert Veldman finished fifth overall in 25:11 and four other Saints finished in the top 30.
Cornerstone moved up five spots to No. 11 from the 16th spot last week. Led by Zach Ripley's individual championship, the Golden Eagles finished fifth, right after Aquinas at the invitational. Ripley was the first runner to cross the finish line in a time of 24:56. Alex Green also finished in the top 10 with a run of 25:19.
