Behind the club of Sara Simnitch, Madonna University won the second WHAC Jamboree and extended its lead in the 2009-10 Women's Golf standings. Aquinas College finished four strokes back for second place. New this year, the two-day event was hosted by Indiana Institute of Technology (Whispering Creek) the first day and Siena Heights University on day two (Tecumseh Country Club).
 
The junior tied for fourth with a two-day total of 173 for MU. Freshman Michelle Hall finished one place behind Simnitch with a 174 total and a team-low 87 on Saturday. The duo pulled Madonna from a four-stroke deficit after day one for the team win with a two-day score of 704
 
Aquinas finished second with a team score of 708. Freshman Abigail Hagan won individual medalist honors with a score of 167 (81, 86). Teammate Taylor Giesen-Bayley finished third (172) while Tech's Megan Garrison was two strokes behind Hagan for second place.
 
This year's schedule features four Jamborees - one single-day event and three two-day events. Jamboree #3 is Sept. 23-24. Aquinas and Davenport will each host one round.
