Runners from Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) members ran in the Detroit Titan Cross Country Invitational.
In a field filled with Division I and Division II competition, Concordia University runner Jim Abrams established himself as an elite runner by finishing 42nd overall in a time of 22:25. Abrams was the first runner to finish who wasn't from the Division I or Division II level.
With only three other runners in the field, Concordia wasn't eligible for the team scoring. Fellow Cardinals Ryan Burmeister finished 78th (24:51); Will Cantrell ran 79th (24:53); and Samuel Bruer in 87th (28:00).
Also running as a partial team, Madonna University was led by a trio of newcomer. Tim Boes was the top Crusader, placing 66th with a time of 23:53 over the four mile distance. Right behind Boes was Danny Pratt in 67th with a time of 23:59. Freshman Luke Mion ran 26:01 to place 83rd while sophomore Mitch Cieslak (Brighton, Mich.) was two spots behind Mion with a time of 26:48.
