The Cornerstone University men's golf team hit a school record 285 to win the second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Jamboree. Cornerstone and Madonna University players shared the individual title.
Chet Vandenberg of CU tied with Jimmy Velmen of Madonna for individual medalist honors finishing two under par 68 for the win. Cornerstone took the victory with a one-stroke lead of 285 while Madonna finished with 286 and Davenport Unversity carded a 290.
Madonna maintains its lead in the WHAC race with a two-Jamboree total stroke count of 570. With the victory, Cornerstone moves into second place with 577. Davenport sits at third with 581.
Hosted by Indiana Tech, the meet was held at Noble Hawk Golf Course in Fort Wayne, Ind.
The third WHAC Jamboree is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Lenawee Country Club.
