KALAMAZOO, Mich. - In a game played live on ESPN2 on Wednesday night, Ali Dawson and her Michigan District 2 teammates brought home the Big League Softball World Series Title with a 4-0 victory over Latin America.

Dawson, a native of Galesburg, Mich., has been competing with the District 2 team for the past two years. Last night they clinched the championship game with a 4-0 victory over the team from Latin America.

Ali collected one hit in the game that was dominated by the Michigan pitching of her former teammate at Galesburg Jackie Bowe who allowed only two hits on the night.

The 2009 series has been going on since August 4 at Vanderberg Park. Ten teams are competing for the title of 2009 Big League World Champions. Vying for the crown will be the five United States Regional Champions, the Canadian national champions, the Latin American champs, and the representatives from the Asia-Pacific and Europe. With Michigan District 2 rounding out the field is the host team.
