GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is proud to announce the 2009 NAIA Men's Golf All-Americans. The selections are comprised of a First, Second and Third Team as Davenport senior Nick Boone was named on the second and sophomore Kevin Palmer to the third.

For the second year in a row, the Davenport golf team made its push towards the top of the NAIA rankings and senior Nick Boone and Kevin Palmer led the way.

After earning 3rd team honors a year ago, senior Nick Boone saved his best season for his final one. The two-time All-American led the Panthers in scoring average with 73.7 as he finished in the Top-10 in 11 of his 13 events he participated in. Boone, who hails from Wyoming, MI posted a low round of 67 during the year and finished nine of his 25 rounds at par or better.

Palmer came on strong at the end of his freshman season while garnering 3rd team honors and PING All-Freshman team honors and the NAIA again placed him on their third team. The sophomore from Sarnia, Ontario finished second on the team in scoring average with 74.8. Kevin also posted 11 top-10 finishes in his 14 events played in and scored a season best 69 back in the fall.

The two golfers helped the 2008-2009 Panthers win their third straight Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) title as they swept all seven jamborees in the fall of 2008. After finishing high in their first ever appearance in an NCAA D-1 tournament this spring, DU finished in 11th place overall at the NAIA National Championships which is the highest in school and WHAC history.
