The Madonna University softball team captured the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament championship by to defeating Aquinas College 11-3 in the "if necessary" game to win both the regular season and postseason conference crown.
Madonna advanced to the tournament final unbeaten where it met Aquinas from the loser's bracket. Aquinas topped Madonna by a score of 3-2 to force a second championship game. The Crusaders rallied in game two and jumped out to a 9-0 lead before winning the second game by a score of 11-3. With the win, Madonna clinched the tournament championship and an automatic birth to the NAIA National championship. |
