Three of the top four seeds are still playing in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Softball Tournament. No. 1 Madonna will face #3 Michigan-Dearborn in winner's bracket while No. 2 Aquinas plays #6 Cornerstone in the loser's bracket.
Game A - Madonna 10, Siena Heights 1
Madonna scored four runs in the opening inning and took a 4-1 lead before the rain delay. When play resumed the following day, MU added four additional runs in the third and two more in the fourth for the win.
Game B - #4 Davenport 10, Indiana Tech 3 Haley Stehouwer hit a homerun in the third and Morgan Greenfield and Ali Dawson each hit solo homers for DU.
Game C - #2 Aquinas 17, Concordia 2 (5 innings)
Game D - #3 Dearborn 2, Cornerstone 1
Cornerstone took an early 1-0 lead on a homer from Dinah Gruppen in the top of the second only to have UMD score in the bottom. The game remained 1-1 until the bottom of the seventh when Kim Lackowski hit a dinger for the winning score.
Game E - Madonna 12, Davenport 0 (5 innings)
Madonna pitcher Jess Irwin pitched her fourth no-hitter of the season. MU scored three runs in the second and nine more in the fourth inning.
Game F - Dearborn 7, Aquinas 4
Game G - #8 Siena Heights 4, Indiana Tech 2 (Tech eliminated)
Jessica Singletary hit a three-run shot in the top of the seventh for the win.
Game H - #6 Cornerstone 8, Concordia 0 (Concordia eliminated)
Cornerstone scored a single run in the first and two more in the second before exploding with five runs in the top of the sixth. Christy Chapman hit a three-run double and then scored on a wild pitch to account for four of those five runs.
Game I - #2 Aquinas 7, #8 Siena Heights 3 (SHU eliminated)
Game J - #6 Cornerstone 6, #4 Davenport 5 (Davenport eliminated)
Cornerstone jumped to a 4-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. In the bottom of the inning, Davenport loaded the bases and drove in three runs. Cornerstone scored two more for a 6-3 lead before Kristina Krum hit a two-run homer to pull to within one run. Cornerstone ended the game with a double-play for the 6-5 win.
