BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - The opening day of the 2009 WHAC Softball Tournament in Battle Creek has been postponed due to rain that has moved through the region.  All Day 1 (Thursday) games will be played on Day 2 (Friday) while the second day of games will now take place on Monday, May 4.
The Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference officials have moved back the 2009 Softball Tournament one day due to rain that has moved into the Battle Creek region.  The 10:00 AM first round games got underway under a slight rain and made it into the middle innings before being delayed and ultimately postponed.
 
#2 Aquinas held an 11-0 lead on #7 Concordia as they were in the top of the fourth with the Saints still batting and #1 Madonna led #8 Siena Heights 4-1 in the bottom of the third with the Crusaders at bat.
 
Those games will pick up where they left off beginning at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 1.  The remainder of the opening round games (#4 Davenport vs. #5 Indiana Tech) and (#3 UM Dearborn vs. #6 Cornerstone) will begin at 1:00 or immediately following the conclusion of the game played on the assigned field.
 
The remainder of the games scheduled for Day One will then be moved back 1-hour from their originally scheduled time and the games are listed below.  All Day Two games will be now played on Monday, May 4 at their original times.
