With the regular season wrapped up and conference tournament games beginning April 30, the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) has released its list of conference honors.
 
Jess Irwin of Madonna University (Mich.) and Ashley Aspinall of Aquinas College were named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) softball pitcher and player of the year, respectively for the 2009 season. Irwin broke nearly every school pitching record on her way to 27-7 record. The sophomore ranks first in the nation for wins and fourth in strikeouts (352). Aspinall hit .451 on the year and drove in 53 runs to rank 12th nationally. Madonna head coach Al White was named coach of the year for pioneering the Crusaders to a 47-9 overall record and regular-season championship.
