Jessica Singletary from Siena Heights University and Whitney Hudson of Aquinas College were named the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Player and Pitcher of the Week for the week ending April 19.

Although SHU went 2-7 on the week, it wasn't for lack of effort on Singletary's part. The junior catcher from Warren, Mich. batted .538, posted a slugging percentage of 1.269 and went yard for five home runs during the nine games. Singletary was 14-for-26 from the plate with eight hits for extra bases. In addition to her five home runs, she hit two doubles and a triple and drove in 12 runs - half of the team's total RBIs - while scoring eight herself. For the season, she carries a .336 batting average and is the only Saint hitting better than .300. SHU sits at 12-35 on the year, 2-16 in WHAC games.

Hudson, a sophomore from Wyoming, Mich., led Aquinas to a 7-1 week, posting five victories herself. The lefty struck out 14 and walked four while allowing just thre earned runs in 34.2 innings of work for a 1.17 ERA. For the year, Hudson has a 2.70 ERA as Aquinas improved to 30-8 overall, 18-2 in conference play.
