Seven women's basketball players from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) were honored by the NAIA for their skills on the hardwood. Two were named First Team All-America, two were named third-teamers and three more were honorably mentioned for the award.

Davenport University guard Kallie Benike and Jenna Plewes of Cornerstone University were honored as First Team NAIA All-America for their efforts in leading their respective schools to the national championship tournament.
 
Benike averaged 14.85 points and 7.38 rebounds per game for the Panthers who advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2009 NAIA Division II Women's Basketball National Championship. The 5'8" sophomore from Campbellsport, Wis. was named the WHAC Player of the Year earlier in the year and helped Davenport to a school-best 31-3 season. 
 
Plewes, a senior, led Cornerstone with 15.57 points and 7.49 rebounds per game. She became just the third Golden Eagle to be named to the first team squad. The 5'10" forward from Zeeland, Mich. finished her career as the second leading scorer in school history. She ranked #47 in the country for free throw percentage at .787. 
 
Josyln Narber of Aquinas College and Kim Olech of Madonna University were both named to the third team of the All-America teams. Narber led Aquinas to the national tournament by averaging 17.07 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists. She also ranked third in the country in free throw percentage with .875. 
 
Olech pulled down 10.44 rebounds per game this season, good enough to rank No. 14 in the country. She also finished at #26 for blocks per game with 1.5 and averaged 11.56 points per game.
 
Carrie Abdo of Aquinas, Davenport's Kristi Boehm and Hannah Thieke of Indiana Institute of Technology were all honorably mentioned for the award. Abdo was Aquinas' second leading scorer with 15.07 ppg and led the team in rebounding, averaging 7.90.  Boehm scored 9.00 ppg and led Davenport with 2.81 assist per game. Thieke led the conference in scoring with 17.76 points per game. She averaged 3.2 assists and 1.86 steals per game.
