Pedja Lazic earned his second consecutive men's basketball honor after recording back-to-back double-doubles. He averaged 20 points, 15.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocked shots in Aquinas College's two victories - the only team in the WHAC to do so
this week.
The senior helped the #22-ranked Saints end the regular season with five straight wins for the WHAC championship. He scored 25 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, four assists, one block and one steal in an 85-63 victory at Indiana Institute of Technology. In a 66-57 win at Cornerstone University, Lazic scored 15 points, had a career-high 21 rebounds, two steals and two blocked shots. The forward became the first Saints player to record more than 20 rebounds in a game since 1966. His two doubles-doubles brought his season total to 12.
A native from Kentwood, Mich, Lazic is averaging 16.9 points and 9.5 rebounds per game this season and ranks ninth in the country for defensive rebounds per game (7.3) and No. 17 for total rebounds per game. Aquinas (21-9/12-2) enters the WHAC tournament as the top seed.
