KANSAS CITY, Mo. - -The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2008 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball All-America Teams, as selected by the NAIA Volleyball All-America Selection Committee and a pair of Crusaders were among the honorees. Senior Lubovj Tihomirova (Riga, Latvia) repeated as a First Team All-America selection while fellow senior Whitney Fuelling (Milford, Mich.) was tabbed as a Second Team selection. Four other WHAC players were named Honorable Mention.

Tihomirova led Madonna University (Mich.) and ranked 11th nationally with her 4.08 kills per set average and sits fifth all-time at Madonna with her 2,413 career terminations. In her final season at MU, the Latvia native put down 616 balls. She also led the Crusaders with 43 aces this season and holds the single season record for kills with 967, set last season.

Fuelling led the WHAC and ranked 10th in the nation with her .385 attack percentage. The senior middle hitter also paced the WHAC with 1.3 blocks per set. Those 1.3 blocks also ranked her 18th on the national scene.

The Crusaders finished the season 35-7 overall and captured their 12th straight Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference championship. MU advanced to the NAIA National Tournament for the 11th time overall and for the seventh straight season.
 
Aquinas College (Mich.) sophomore and WHAC Setter of the Year Katie VanderMeer was an honorable mention selection along with Holly Cousins of Cornerstone Univeristy (Mich.), and Asthyn Humerickhouse and Ashley Hamilton of Indiana Institute of Technology.
