No. 11-ranked Madonna University (Mich.) never found its groove during the 2008 NAIA Volleyball National Championship in Sioux City, Iowa, losing all three pool play matches to finish the season at 35-6. Indiana Institute of Technology went 1-2 during pool play to end with a school-record 33-5 mark.
 
The Crusaders entered the tournament in Pool B along with #2 Biola University (Calif.), Lewis-Clark State College (Idaho) and Lubbock Christian University (Texas.). MU opened pool play on Tuesday and suffered a five-set upset to Lewis-Clark State (25-23, 25-22, 21-25, 20-25, 13-15). Madonna dropped its second five-set pool play match falling 3-2 (26-28, 25-23, 16-25, 25-15, 14-16) to Lubbock Christian the next night.  The Crusaders saw their season come to an end on Thursday night with a 3-1 (15-25, 28-26, 21-25, 19-25) loss at the hands of Biola to wrap up pool play with a 0-3 tournament record. 
 
Madonna was making its seventh consecutive trip to the national tournament, 11th overall and now holds a 25-23 all-time tournament record.
 
Pool F saw Indiana Tech, #6 Georgetown College (Ky.), #7 California Baptist University and College of Idaho. Indiana Tech fell Cal Baptist on opening day in three (21-25, 30-32, 22-25). Tech took Georgetown to five games the next day before falling 2-3 (25-23, 25-21, 19-25, 27-29, 14-16). Tech notched a win on the third day of pool play defeating College of Idaho in five games (23-25, 26-24, 25-23, 16-25, 15-9). 
 
Tech finished the tournament with a 1-3 record for its first-ever national tournament appearance.
