Although both the #1 and #2 seeds have a bye the first round, four other WHAC teams face off starting Nov. 11. Check out the first-round match-ups.

Sixth-seeded University of Michigan-Dearborn travels to #3-seed Aquinas College (Mich.) while No. 5 Davenport University (Mich.) will face #4 Cornerstone University (Mich.). The two winners will advance to semifinal matches against the top two teams in the conference.

Dearborn (14-31/4-10) features Courtney Provencher who is averaging 2.87 kills per match during conference play. She is joined by defensive-minded Chelsea McCune who is third in the conference in digs per match at 4.30. Aquinas (21-12/10-4) is counting on Mollie Lounds' .320 hitting percentage to carry them to the semifinals. Game time is 7 p.m. on the campus of Aquinas.

The second match of the opening round features two evenly matched teams, each capable of advancing to the next round. Davenport (15-25/6-8) and Cornerstone (22-20/7-7) split during the regular season, each winning in their home gyms. Cornerstone's Holly Cousins leads the WHAC in kills per match with 4.61 and teammate Kayla Wilson tops the list of digs per match (4.3). Davenport also has some offensive weapons with Kayla Vandermolen and Autun Williams. Both rank in the top 10 for service aces. The match is slated for a 5 p.m. start at Cornerstone.
