The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announces the Men's Soccer Players of the Week.

Keith Sied, Madonna University (Mich.), and Jesse Guevara-Lehker of Aquinas College (Mich.) have been chosen as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference men's soccer players of the week for the week ending September 14, 2008.

 

A senior hailing from Livonia, Mich., Sied earned the offensive honor as he helped Madonna to a 1-0 week by scoring both of the Crusaders' goals in a 2-1 victory against Aquinas College (Mich.). The midfielder connected on his only two shots of the game as Madonna improved to 3-1 overall.

 

Guevara-Lehker recorded seven saves in his first collegiate start in goal to nab the defensive award. His shutout enabled Aquinas to post a 1-0 victory on the road against St. Xavier University (Ill.). A native of Grand Rapids, Mich., the freshman spent the entire regulation plus two overtimes in goal for the Saints. Aquinas posted a 1-1 record on the week for an overall record of 2-3.
